Tell us About Yourself​

Hi, I’m Yining, and I’m currently studying Information Systems with minors in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and architecture. I'm from Queens, NYC, specifically Flushing, so I know all the good Asian eats and I love to explore the city! I started my college journey as an architecture student, but my interest in and exploration of technology ultimately led me to transfer to IS. Because most of my college experiences have been in architecture so far, I will share my favorite architectural building, which is the Dancing House in Prague, Czech Republic by Frank Gehry. Despite transferring out of the architecture major, I will always have a passion for beautiful buildings and architectural spaces.

Outside of academics, I enjoy playing the piano, doing art, attempting to crochet, and competitive paddling (dragonboat, but not as much anymore because of college :(( ). I also played on the handball team before covid, so I am always down to play handball (the small blue ball, not the european version). I also have a huge love for boba, froyo, and desserts in general, which I often drag my friends to get with me. I have a huge passion for Mala hotpot, near upitt, and I think it's better than most of the mala places in Flushing. Most importantly, I love to explore and discover new things/places/hobbies/people to keep my life interesting and adventurous.

Lastly, I’m excited about joining this sisterhood, where I can grow personally and professionally, and I’m looking forward to the friendships and support that come with being part of such a close-knit community.
