Chloe's College & Career Goals

As mentioned in my biography, I really love art and creating!

In college, my main goals are to become more involved on campus and really build a sense of community for myself. I want to join more clubs and take on roles where I can contribute creatively, meet new people, and feel connected beyond just academics! I’m also working toward developing better balance in my life especially improving my sleep schedule and overall well-being. Academically, I want to keep growing my skills at psychology, design, and technology and maintaining a good GPA. In the long term, I hope to pursue a career in UX/UI design at a large company where I can work on products that are thoughtful, accessible, and genuinely improve people’s experiences. Beyond my career, I want a future that feels balanced and fulfilling and I hope to have a lot of friendships from college that I still keep in touch with and having 2 cats and a dog, living somewhere cityish like Boston.

questions!

What do you look for in a potential big sister? (personality traits, type of relationship, dynamic)

For a potential big sister, I'd look for someone who is kind, approachable, and genuine, but who can also match my sense of humor. I have a pretty playful sense of humor, so I’d love a big I can laugh with and feel comfortable being myself around. At the same time, I really value someone who is supportive and dependable, someone I can go to for advice, reassurance, or just to talk things through when I’m stressed or unsure. Ideally, I’d want a relationship that feels natural and balanced, where we can both have fun together but also have meaningful conversations. I admire people who are honest, encouraging, and willing to share their experiences, especially when it comes to college and personal experiences. Having a big sister who checks in, offers guidance when I need it, and makes me feel supported would mean a lot to me.

who do you look up to?

I definitely look up to my parents the most. They are some of the strongest, kindest, and most selfless people I know, and they work incredibly hard every day to give me opportunities they never had. I am who I am because of how they raised me and the values they instilled in me, and I will always appreciate them for that. I’m a first-generation student, as my parents didn’t attend college in China or the U.S. They both came to the U.S. in their late teens, navigating a completely new country and language without higher education, and still managed to support a family of five. They opened a restaurant and work tireless hours every day without breaks to support their children, and I will always be grateful for their resilience and sacrifices. They continue working hard to help pay for my college tuition, and I hope to use my college years to stay focused, build a meaningful career, and eventually give them the life they deserve!

What kind of personalities do you get along with?

I tend to get along with most personalities, but I especially connect with people who are good listeners while also being yappers themselves. I really enjoy conversations that go both ways, where people are open, expressive, and willing to share, but also thoughtful and attentive to others. I love people who are funny, kind, and emotionally aware, because they make interactions feel comfortable and genuine. Being around people who can joke around but also be supportive and understanding helps me feel relaxed and able to be myself.

What are three qualities that you look for in friends?

Humorous Trustworthy Understanding

How do you best feel supported? (by friends, family, teachers, etc.)ember Process for Kappa Phi Lambda?

I feel most supported when I’m included and genuinely listened to. I really appreciate people who are mindful of others being left out and who make an effort to hear different perspectives and feelings. That’s something I really admire and aspire to be like myself. I’m especially grateful for friends who make it clear that I can trust them and who consistently show that they have my back because that sense of reliability and understanding means a lot to me.

What is something you're proud of?

I’m really proud of my achievements in art. Art has been a big part of my life for many years, and it’s something I’ve consistently worked on and grown in. In high school, I was fortunate to receive several art-related awards, including Scholastic Gold and Silver Keys and being recognized as "Most Artistic.” These accomplishments mean a lot to me not just because of the recognition, but because they reflect the time, passion, and creativity I’ve put into something I genuinely love.

What do you hope to gain from the New Member Process for Kappa Phi Lambda?

Through the Kappa Phi Lambda new member process, I really hope to build meaningful friendships and a strong sense of community. I’m excited to meet new people, form genuine connections, and feel like I’m part of something supportive and welcoming. I also hope to learn more about the sorority’s values, traditions, and sisterhood, and to grow personally through the experience. Overall, I’m looking forward to learning how to better support others, work as part of a close-knit group, and create lasting friendships that go beyond just college.
